There’s always something fun going on at the Children’s Museum – dynamic demonstrations, exciting experiments, super star shows and lots of hands-on exploration and discovery. Every month, we also have lots of special events, activities and guests; check out what’s happening when you’re coming to visit!

The Children's Museum is open 10-5 p.m. on Mondays beginning Victoria Day.

*Due to the volume of school group traffic in May and June you may experience some gallery closures during the week. You may wish to phone in advance of your visit.

Just Dance!

Saturday, May 1 & Sunday, May 2 1-3 p.m.
We're celebrating National Dance Week with special performances from local dance groups! Learn about all the different dance styles such as hip hop, ballet and jazz.

Hip Hop Workshop!

Saturday, May 1 2:30 p.m.
Hip Hop 'til you drop with dance instructor Hayley Blyth in this energetic hour-long workshop for ages 8-12 years old. Hayley will teach you the moves step by step and by the end you will be able to perform a whole hip-hop routine!

Pre-registration required. Come dressed comfortably! Workshop fee is $15.

Musical Theatre Workshop!

Sunday, May 2 2:30 p.m.
Join dance and theatre instructor Hayley Blyth in an hour-long musical-theatre workshop for ages 8-12 years old. Hayley will lead you through a performance including dance, drama and singing and will make you a Broadway star!

Move to the rhythm and clap to the beat, this workshop will get you dancing on your feet!

Join us for an animal meet and greet with the Animal Rescue Foundation! Learn all about animal adoption too!

Mother's Day Around the World!

Celebrate mothers around the world with special cultural performances! Special guests and activities include: interactive drumming by Sheila Shorrell, a Vietnamese hat dance by Whiteoaks Public School, music and Maypole dance performance by the German Language School , Paniel handbell choir by Mi Young, Korean drumming group, African and Hip Hop dance by Nguni, Indian dance by Raji Natya School of Dance plus henna tattoos, crafts and more!

Meet Matthew Kennedy and his creepy crawly friends! Get up close and personal with spiders, scorpions, snakes and more and learn about their environment.

Victoria Day Teddy Bear Tea Party!

Monday, May 24 10-5 p.m.
Celebrate Victoria Day with the whole family! Join us for our annual tea party and bring your fuzzy friend too! Enjoy tea party treats at 10 a.m. (until supplies last). The Teddy Bear Doctor is in the house from 1:30-3 p.m. and will be doing check-ups on bears and giving them some care. Afterward, take your teddy bear on a museum adventure!

Greek Celebration!

Saturday, May 29 10-4 p.m.
Join us for a celebration of Greece! Enjoy a live choir and music, interactive dancing, fashion show, storytelling, puppetry, crafts and food!
