Art Apprentices: Crafting Masterpieces

Saturday, November 6 10-12 p.m.
Learn all about the art masters in this Budding Artist workshop. This is the second session in a four-part series and is themed around Andy Warhol and Pop Art! Learn about Warhol and other masters through stories and games and create your own art masterpieces!

Workshops are for ages 6-10 years old and the fee is $25.

World Town Planning Day!

Saturday, November 6 10-1 p.m.
Join us as we celebrate World Town Planning Day! Learn all about how our communities are developed through lots of hands-on activities for all ages. Try our Geocaching course and search for treasures, build your own large-scale community and learn about your own neighbourhood and find it on a map! Plus enjoy lots of other crafts and activities and interact with the people that help plan our city!

Meet Matthew Kennedy and his creepy crawly friends! Get up close and personal with spiders, scorpions, snakes and more and learn about their environment.

Learn all about this Muslim celebration and enjoy special activities, food, crafts and more!

Poi Fire-Spinning!

Sunday, November 21 2 p.m.
Watch a Poi performance, the ancient art of fire-spinning in our playground! Learn about this amazing artform and learn about fire-safety too. After the performance, visitors will have the chance to practice Poi themselves, without the fire element of course!

Reptiles at Risk

Friday, November 5:30-8 p.m.
Come join us for an educational program all about Ontario’s native reptiles!  Get up close to live snakes that you can touch and hold, and the knowledgeable Reptiles at Risk crew will be here to answer your questions!

As a part of our Celebrations exhibit, learn about the Hindu festival of Diwali and Indian culture with special guests dancers, food, music and more!

Fun with Food!

Sunday, November 28 11-4 p.m.
Join Andrew Fleet from Growing Chefs at 11 a.m. and learn to make yummy squash soup and salad dressing. At 1 p.m., join special guest from the Brescia College nutrition program for some healthy lifestyle games and activities!
