There's more to explore...
For over 30 years, children and their grown-ups have been exploring, discovering and learning together at the London Children's Museum. Besides our permanent galleries and temporary exhibits, we offer lots of special workshops, day camp experiences, unique birthday parties and more!
There's always something fun going on at the Children's Museum!
Early Years Programs
The Children’s Museum is a great place for preschoolers to meet new friends and expand on fun, hands-on learning.
- A preschooler is eager to make friends. Engaging in play with other children helps preschoolers to develop their social skills
- Activities like “playing house”, taking turns slithering down the slide or helping uncover dinosaur bones encourages preschoolers to co-operate positively and respectfully with others.
- Preschoolers can further develop positive attitudes towards learning by taking in the new experiences, learning about different cultures/beliefs and linking these experiences to words they already know.
- As they continue to develop their personal identities they will use pretend play as an outlet to express their emotions. Dramatic play in the doctor’s office can help a child to communicate how they are feeling. As you admire a preschoolers’ effort for participating in an activity this helps the child to view themselves as worthy individuals.
- Mastery in physical development such as fine motor skills can be achieved by dressing up in costumes, using crayons or scissors and even using play tools in the Street Where You Live gallery.

School Aged Programs
School aged children can benefit socially, emotionally, physically and cognitively from their visit to the Children’s Museum. They have the ability to expand their decision making skills by choosing to play in their own way in any one of our exciting galleries.
- Children are able to express their feelings, emotions and creativity through dramatic role playing where they can drift off into their own world of make believe. Whether it’s planting their own garden of vegetables in the Science Gallery or taking a ride on our plasma cars in the Street Where You Live, these children will learn how to maintain their own healthy lifestyle.
- The school-aged child will have the opportunity to explore, play and learn collectively in a safe environment with other children. They will be able to build strong skills in sharing, developing friendships and learning correct social behaviours.
- Age appropriate literacy is promoted in each and every gallery through books, display cases and signs.
