We Celebrate Our Volunteers

Children’s Museum volunteers are very special people. They don’t mind noise and mess. They enjoy getting their hands dirty. They laugh a lot. And they love kids and learning. There are 200 of these extraordinary people involved at the Children’s Museum. They are our shining stars. Each month, we will be featuring one of these amazing volunteers!

This month we celebrate two volunteers! Volunteer of the Month: Cassie Schaefer and Ontario Volunteer Services Award Nominee: Katie Kehoe

January’s Volunteer of the Month Cassie Schaefer!

Cassie, a co-op student from Saunders Secondary School, began her placement here on September 21st, 2011 and has completed close to 200 hours!

During her placement, Cassie would spend her Tuesdays-Fridays assisting in a variety of ways! Some of her many tasks included hosting our galleries, facilitating art demonstrations, assisting in the day camp program and MUCH more. Cassie regularly stayed beyond her scheduled shifts to help with special events at the Museum. We are sad Cassie’s placement has
come to an end, but we wish her all the best! Thank you Cassie!

Ontario Volunteer Services Award Nominee: Katie KehoeVolunteer_KatieKehoe.png

Katie Kehoe has been volunteering at the Children’s Museum since 2007 and is being nominated for the Ontario Volunteer Services Award! This award recognizes volunteer contribution of 5 or more years to organizations across Ontario.

You can regularly find Katie at the Children’s Museum on Tuesdays and Thursdays assisting in our Visitor Experiences Department! Some of her responsibilities include; hosting our galleries, assisting in the Day Camp Program and helping prepare for upcoming events. Katie always welcomes our visitors, volunteers and staff with a friendly smile! A special thanks to
Katie, Ashley and her family for their continued support throughout the years.
Congratulations, Katie!
