Open Studio: Build-a-Coaster
Build, test, twist, and roll!
In this engineering-inspired Open Studio, visitors can design and build their own mini marble roller coaster using a variety of materials. Try flexible tubes, folded paper tracks, cardboard, tape, straws, or connectors to create loops and drops, then test your coaster with marbles or pom poms to see how it rides. Add your creation to our growing coaster park in the Discovery Lab for others to enjoy!

Open Studio: Character Creation
Imagine, sketch, and create!
In this character-building Open Studio, visitors will design their own comic book characters and bring them to life on the page. Use funhouse mirrors to spark wild ideas, play with proportions and expressions, and experiment with shapes, colours, and styles. Then, turn your character into a comic strip and explore how pictures and words work together to tell a story!
