Move to Wharncliffe Road

1982

Quickly outgrowing London Towers, the London Children’s Museum team embarked on a $1.5 million fundraising campaign to purchase and renovate Riverview Public School at 21 Wharncliffe Rd S.

With the help of donors, volunteers, and community leaders, this dream became a reality. On August 31, 1981, the London Children's Museum left London Towers, reopening at 21 Wharncliffe Rd in early 1982.

Between 1982 and 1983, the new London Children's Museum saw over 60,000 visitors, operated 1152 school programs, and ran 200 workshops.
